- Can anyone play?
Yes, TGS and TRGA welcome golfers of all abilities. We do not make a distinction between pro and amateur golfers. - Will there be a tournament ball?
Yes, each player will receive a dozen authorized balls. All participants will be playing the same ball. - Are TGS and TRGA rules the same as USGA Rules?
While many rules are the same, some differ, mainly regarding the universal drop procedure. TGS and TRGA rules are rooted in precedents in the history of the game and are fundamental to the preservation of proper participation and presentation in the game of golf. - Where can I find persimmon woods and a persimmon driver to play?
The TRGA has thousands of fine quality persimmon woods for sale. You can also find them in plentiful supply on various trading and bidding websites. - Will I lose my amateur status if I collect prizes in a Persimmon Tour event?
You’ll have to check with the organization that you may be concerned with. That is beyond the purview of TGA and TRGA. - Is there a host hotel at the golf course?
For the Las Vegas Classic, the host hotel will be Bally’s Las Vegas. - Is there airport to hotel transportation?
Yes, you can make arrangements with Bally’s Hotel. - Is there transportation from the host hotel to the golf course?
There will be two shuttles leaving from the host hotel to the golf course. Information will be available at TraditionalGolfSociety.com - What kind of weather can I expect at the event?
Morning golf can be chilly, dress in layers. The desert temperatures this time of year will fluctuate from cold to pleasant by noon. Use this link to follow local weather. - Can I use a Ping Putter?
As long is it is the shortest club in your bag. Ping irons are not allowed however. - Can I use a laminated wood driver?
Yes you may, so long as it meets the TGS conformance specifications. There were some laminated woods in the 1980s that exceeded conformance specifications. There were many fine laminated divers and fairway woods prior to the introduction of compensating golf clubs.
